REMINDER NOTICES FOR ORCHESTRA MEMBERS

2010

North Coast Performing Arts Association (PAA) is performing works with a French Connection at a concert in early May. Many Orchestra members participate. They are still looking for additional string players so if you would like to be involved contact Aditya van de Meulen (our bassoonist) for details.

MARCH

Saturday 20 March The Australian Youth Orchestra Brass Quintet will be performing at 8pm at Cavanbah Centre in Harbour Drive. Concert starts at 8pm and cost is $10 per ticket. Sunday 21 March Performing at the Coffs Council Opening event for Seniors Week at the Cavanbah Centre. Performing at 2.30-3pm but please be at the venue by 1.30 for setting up on stage by 2pm (prior to the Mayor speaking so if you are late you will not be able to set up as we play straight after the presentations). Arrangements to be confirmed but we may have to enter via the rear entrance with our instruments etc.

Thursday 25 March The Orchestra Annual General Meeting will be held at 8pm during a break in rehearsals at our normal rehearsal venue, CHEC lecture theatre O Block. Make sure you have paid your invoices prior to then.

Friday 26 March Ensemble Liaison will give a concert at D Block lecture theatre CHEC starting at 8pm. (piano, cello and clarinet trio). They will play Beethoven, Gershwin and Brahms. Tickets are $35, school students $15 and concessions and group bookings available. MAY

Saturday 1 May PAA concert "Music with a French Connection" at Memorial Hall Bellingen, 2pm

Sunday 2 May PAA concert repeat at Sawtell RSL CLub 2pm

Friday 7 May There is a clarinet workshop with Mark Walton at St Andrews, main street of Bellingen, 10-3pm; cost $35. See www.bellingenmusicfestival.com.au for further details.

Saturday, Sunday 8 and 9 May Bellingen first music festival - spaces are limited to 400 so book early. Details available on www.bellingenmusicfestival.com.au

Further plans for 2010 tbc but we will likely give a gala concert in July or August. We will perform the primary school kids concert again in October and a Xmas concert in December. Other concerts will be organised in the near future including a visit to Nambucca later in the year.

JUNE
